New Locator Tool Makes It Easier to Give Locally to Millions of American Children
Location marketing technology leader SIM Partners announced today it has partnered with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to make it easier for toy donors to locate Toys for Tots collection centers for millions of children in need.
SIM Partners has created and implemented a map-based locator on the Toys for Tots website, which provides a faster, more elegant way for people to search for their nearest Toys for Tots collection centers and choose one from a drop-down menu.
The improved functionality supports the mission of the Toys for Tots program, which collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which a Toys for Tots campaign is conducted. In 2015, Toys for Tots distributed 18 million toys to 7 million children.

SIM Partners relied on its Velocity location-marketing platform to design and implement the locator tool, which emulates the retail store locator experience to provide donors an efficient search experience. Donors may search by zip code, city, state, landmark or their own address to find the nearest Toys for Tots location. This locator provides search results for the closest locations and the name, address and phone (NAP) data for every location, in addition to an option to click and land on each location’s webpage.
The pro bono work was conducted as part of the SIM Partners Give Back program, through which the company performs community-service projects.
About the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is the fundraising and support organization for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The foundation was created at the behest of the U.S. Marine Corps and has supported Toys for Tots since 1947.
